An Enigma Called Time
Sun dials, clocks, wrist watches all of these show us time
That time is precious, it is unstoppable, it keeps on moving
So tell the people around us
That we should not waste it, we should not while it around like that
And deep inside we all know its importance
But even with all that in mind
We somehow forget what it really means
What it means to utilize time to the best of our advantage
In such a way that we can become the best versions of ourselves
Instead we take time as just another thing that is there
Procrastinate to the best of our abilities to postpone what is to be done now
To a time of which we don't know about
Which in turn shifts that later time's work even further
Leaving us with overpowering stress
And to cope with that we further waste our time
By watching some show or indulging in some other shit that can make us feel relaxed for the time being and relieve us from our responsibilities in an ad-hoc way
But then again when we have to get to work
We struggle to even begin and in the end we leave it as it was
And the catch 22 situation goes on and on
Then after a few years when we see people like us
The ones we have grown up around
With the slightest of their accomplishments
We get annoyed by their success, not because of where they are
But because of where we are
Next we remember the days when we were in the same class, scored more or less the same marks and indulged in similar activities during our leisure time
And then we wonder, "What went wrong and when?"
And the answer more often than not is "time"
It changes for everyone
Sometimes not in the way we expect
But it sure does
